The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) will offer discounted rates for electrical and full-hookup RV campsites at selected state parks during October and November. Keep reading for more information about Oregon RV Camping discounts this fall.
Starting today, campers will be able to use the code FallFun19 at oregonstateparks.reserveamerica.com to receive a $7 discount off the nightly RV campsite rate. That brings the current Oregon RV camping rate from $24-34 down to $17-27.
There is a special quality to Fall in Oregon. The heat of summer doesn’t break as much as it eases into a cool mist that soothes the sun soaked land. On the Oregon Coast fog ebbs and flows like a tide in the sky. The fog condenses and falls like a mist in the forest canopy.
Fog hangs like a vapor over coastal lakes in the morning. These conditions have made Oregon one of the most sought after destinations for wildlife photography.
Chris Havel, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) associate director, says the discount is intended as a pilot program. The goal is to see if a discounted price can encourage campers to explore different parks during the shoulder season.
Oregon RV Camping sites are relatively easy to book after Labor Day. Many campers have to head home to get the kids off to school. The crowds have mellowed and traffic slowed to a mellow pace. Many local businesses embrace the fall season travelers warmly. Don’t hesitate to ask your camp host for ideas. Oregonians are warm and friendly folks. (Mostly. We all have our moments) They’re happy to share their favorite spot to eat or have a beverage.
“The fall is a great time to enjoy the changing season, and there’s nothing like a cozy campfire on a brisk fall morning,” Havel said. “We challenge Oregonians to discover their new favorite camping season.”

- The discount applies to online advanced reservations only.
- The discount will not apply to reservations made by phone or to walk-in campers, nor can OPRD apply it to existing reservations.

- The discount is for recreational vehicle campsites only.
Oregon has made great strides in providing accessible recreation. Oregon Parks took a mindful approach to making more facilities accessible. Sometimes all it takes is an easy grade ramp and a few wheel barrows of stone dust raked out. Notice how the fire ring above isn’t raised on a platform. It can be accessed from all sides by a person in a wheelchair.
Many of the accessibility improvements are applied in a subtle manner as to be inviting to persons with disabilities without specifically calling attention to the feature. That’s the whole point of inclusiveness though. To be thought of in the design of public facilities.
