Birds of Prey Come to Lake Livingston State Park

LIVINGSTON— Lake Livingston State Park has partnered with EarthQuest to offer a one-of-a-kind Birds of Prey program March 24.

An experienced falconer will give two presentations on these magnificent and amazing birds throughout the day. During each presentation, the falconer will showcase several different birds of prey and the adaptations that enable these birds to be masters of the sky. The birds may even take to the sky to show off their skills of flight and demonstrate how they spot and catch their prey.

The first presentation begins at 10 a.m. and second will be at 2 p.m.

Falconers and rangers will be on hand for photos, to answer questions and share information on the birds. EarthQuest is providing the park visitors this experience at no cost to the park and will be accepting donations to further their mission of education, and to provide for the rescue and care of birds of prey.

EarthQuest is a nonprofit environmental education organization, dedicated to the education of the public as to their impact on the natural world.

Regular park entrance fees of $5 per adult will apply for admission into the park. Children 12 and under are always free.

For more information on this and other programs at Lake Livingston State Park visit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website.
